Does my PDF leave my device?

What kinds of password protection work?
Standard PDF user-password encryption works. Owner-only restrictions (print/copy locks without an open password) are removed automatically — no password needed. Unusual or proprietary protection schemes may fail — if so, you will see an error rather than a broken file.
Is the password stored?
No. It exists only in memory while your browser opens the file, then it is discarded. We never receive it.
What if the PDF is not password protected?
You will be told there is nothing to remove. You can still download a copy if you want one.
